Dan Hopper has served in Christian school administration for 30 years. He has a Bachelor’s degree with a double major in psychology and religion from George Fox University, a Master of Divinity degree from George Fox Seminary, and a Master of Arts in Education degree, as well as two state credentials from California State University, Dominguez Hills. Dan and his wife, Vicky, have been married 38 years. They have three adult children and 7 grandchildren. They both enjoy reading and going on scenic drives. Dan also enjoys riding a motorcycle, hiking, and golfing.
Shawn Roberts joined Classical Christian Academy as Associate Headmaster in 2009 having served on the Board of Trustees for 6 years. His passion is fueled by his purpose statement:“I must continually inspire future leaders to pursue excellence in order to achieve their maximum design potential.” Mr. Roberts and his wife have three children– one is a CCA student and two are graduates. Mr. Roberts earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Sciences from the University of Idaho.
Julie Hill has an Office Administration Diploma from ITT Technical Institute, an Associates Degree in Office Administration, and a Bible Certificate from Trinity Bible College in North Dakota. She started her career working for Boeing in Everett, Washington. She later moved to Idaho, and for 12 years owned and operated a preschool in Rathdrum. Julie has been married for 27 years and has 4 children.
Director of Communications and Marketing
Shannon received a Bachelors of Arts in Communication Arts from Lewis-Clark State College, where her emphasis was Marketing. She has worked in marketing in the medical and insurance fields, as well as doing freelance writing. For the past three years she has classically homeschooled her three children in San Diego. An Idaho native, Shannon, her husband, and 3 children have relocated back and are excited to be a part of CCA again. Shannon was a lead Sunday school teacher at her church for two years. She also volunteered in her children’s classrooms for five years, many of which she was the room mom.
Laura has a Bachelor’s degree in accounting from Cal State Fullerton, and was an accountant for several years before resigning to stay home and raise her five children. Since she and her husband Fred moved to Idaho in 2004, 2 of their sons have graduated from CCA, and 2 more currently attend. She has been our business manager since the summer of 2012.
Corrine Hossley has been involved with organizing various children and family ministries for over 12 years, including AWANA, VBS, Bible Camps, and church functions. She has also worked for Compass International, a non-profit Christian organization for the last 14 years. She has helped her husband, Ben, run and operate his local small business in Hayden, Idaho, since they were married in 2007. They have 3 children who will be attending CCA.
Pre-Kindergarten and K+
Bonnie Posey has over 30 years’ experience in child care, Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten education. Mrs. Posey completed two years of Christian Education at Pentecostal Bible College in Livermore, California. Mrs. Posey is active in various ministries including child evangelism, as a Sunday school teacher, worship leader and children’s pastor. Mrs. Posey has been married to David for 38 years, has 3 children and 9 grandchildren.
Originally from Iowa, Bethann has her Masters from California State University, Fresno. She also attended the Institute of Biblical Studies. She is married with two children. Her daughter currently attends CCA, and her son recently graduated from Westpoint.
Mrs. Heisey has a passion for education and loves her “Kinders”. When she is not teaching, Bethann is gardening, scrapbooking, or enjoying time with her family.
Heather has over 7 years teaching experience since graduating with her Bachelor’s degree in education from Tennessee Technological University in 2001. She has taught from kindergarten to twelfth grade in Tennessee, Minnesota, Alaska, and Washington along with being a homeschool mom to her two oldest children. She has a passion for teaching. She is thrilled to bring her family to join the CCA family!
Hannah Roberts graduated from the University of Idaho with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. She joined the CCA faculty in the fall of 2003 when she began teaching 2nd grade. Mrs. Roberts continues to provide a classroom environment where students are encouraged to apply themselves in their studies while maintaining joy in the learning process. She has a nurturing personality that ministers to her students. Mrs. Roberts is the mother of four children who are all currently enrolled in Classical Christian Academy.
Mrs. Finley has an Associate’s degree in English from Spokane Community College, a Bachelor of Arts in History Education from Eastern Washington University, and a Masters in Financial Business from Keller University (and she loves long division).
Mrs. Finley has worked at CCA since 2011 as a PE teacher, office staff, 8th grade history teacher, Robotics coach, and Cross Country coach. She loves to help students find their personal talents through encouragement and support and see them develop a love of learning.
Heather Paget began teaching at Classical Christian Academy in 1997. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from Eastern Washington University with a major in Reading and a minor in Mathematics.
In January 2004 Mrs. Paget stepped away from the classroom for a time to have children. Later, she came back part-time to teach Latin for several years. She is now back in the fourth grade classroom and is an experienced and effective teacher in classical education.
Stephanie Davis is a graduate of the University of Idaho with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. She is highly praised for her organizational skills, energetic approach to teaching, and love for students. In addition, Ms. Davis possesses a strong desire to serve the Lord through her teaching. One of her greatest desires is to provide a learning environment where students will develop a love of discovery and learning.
Mark Sallade obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from St. Meinrad, in Southern Indiana. He later obtained his teaching certification through the University of Idaho. Mr. Sallade began working for Classical Christian Academy in the fall of 2005 as the 6th grade teacher. One of Mr. Sallade’s biggest strengths is his ability to connect with each of his students. He not only provides a quality education but also seeks to minister to the hearts of his students.
History, English, Literature
Jennifer Sorensen began teaching at Classical Christian Academy in 2003. She graduated from the University of Idaho with a Bachelor’s degree in Education and a minor in English. She received her Master’s degree in Education with an emphasis in Reading and Literacy in 2014. Mrs. Sorensen taught 3rd grade for 12 years. She now teaches literature, history, and civics at the secondary level. She has four boys– 3 are currently students at CCA, and 1 is a CCA graduate.
Literature and Rhetoric
Jenna Bailey joined the Classical Christian Academy family in August 2008. Mrs. Bailey’s Bachelor of Science degree in English was obtained from the University of Great Falls, Montana, with a minor in History. Mrs. Bailey has taught History, Literature, and Rhetoric during her time with CCA. She is the mother of 2 children, both of whom attend Classical Christian Academy. Mrs. Bailey’s passion for quality education and her love of history and literature endear her to the hearts of her students.
Bible, Apologetics, Philosophy and Drama
Phil Thompson joined the Classical Christian Academy family in the fall of 2010. Mr. Thompson obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Arts and Drama from Westmont College. He continued his studies at Fuller Theological Seminary where he obtained his Master of Divinity degree in Theology.
Mr. Thompson has been a pastor for 25 years and has a passion for youth. His passion is to show the providence of God throughout history by searching God’s word and applying it to life circumstances.
Logic, Latin and Greek
Matthew Chastain graduated from Hillsdale College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in the Classics with an emphasis in History. Mr. Chastain joined Classical Christian Academy in the fall of 2010. He has experience in classical Christian education as a graduate of Mars Hill Academy. In addition to History, Mr. Chastain’s passion is in teaching Greek and Latin. He also has an extensive background in theatre. Mr. Chastain has a genuine desire and ability to integrate subjects and to enrich the education of his students.
Convinced that “all truth is God’s truth,” Richard believes that examination of God’s creation properly leads to praise of His character. Mr. Brandon’s passion for God’s Word and godly living are contagious to his students. He believes it essential to build people rather than merely disseminate information.
An educator, Pastor, and entrepreneur, Mr. Brandon studies diligently (three undergraduate and three graduate degrees), travels extensively (72 countries so far), and serves faithfully (serve God by serving people).
Dr. Nicole Leonhard
Calculus and Trigonometry
Dr. Nicole Leonhard and her husband, Thomas, are both from the Pacific Northwest. Dr. Leonhard graduated with a BA in Math/Computer Science from Western Washington University. During that time she found that she was blessed with a talent and passion for teaching college level math, as well as mentoring students.
After moving to Liberty Lake and being a stay at home Mom for a couple years, God called her and her family to go to Houston, TX to pursue her PhD in Mathematics. Last May, she and her family were very excited to relocate back to the Spokane/CDA area.
Laura Tamplin was born and raised in Southern California. She attended The Master’s College and Seminary earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts. Then, she attended Grand Canyon University earning her Master’s Degree in Secondary Education.
She has been married to Richard Tamplin for fourteen years. They have seven children. They left California 2 years ago and headed on the road. Their last stop was Idaho and this is where they stayed. They are in great anticipation to see how God is going to use them in this new adventure.
Algebra II and Geometry
Angela Inouye has a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Zoology with a Chemistry minor from University of Idaho. She homeschooled her children for 8 years and has spent the past 6 years substitute teaching and tutoring.
Mrs. Inouye and her husband, Cory, have been married 21 years and have 2 adult children. Her other true passion is helping students discover new things about themselves and seeing their excitement when they master something they previously didn’t think possible.
Pre-Algebra, Algebra I and Humanities
Mrs. Woelfle graduated from Metro State College of Denver in 2011 with her Bachelors in English and a license in Elementary Education. She taught 5th grade in Colorado for 5 years. Two of those years, she taught all subjects. In her third year, she was asked to teach Math and History and was blessed with success in teaching math.
Laura, her husband, and their three children recently moved to Post Falls. They are grateful and excited about all God is doing in their lives and his provision in leading them to Idaho.
Mr. Finley received a Bachelor of Arts and Culture from New Saint Andrews College in 2013, where he studied Latin for three years.
Originally from Indiana, he has lived in North Idaho for the last 7 years where he met and married Mrs. Finley. He is a big believer in the classical approach to education and is excited to work with Grammar level students.
Mrs. Manson has a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education with special emphasis in Sports Medicine. She is a nationally certified Athletic Trainer and is also registered in the state of Idaho. She started working at CCA in 2006 as the Administrative Assistant but stepped away to spend time with her younger children. She is married with 3 children, 3 stepchildren, and 3 grand children. Mrs. Manson is active in her church including Sunday school and Children’s Church teacher. Her heart’s desire is “telling to the generations to come the praises of the Lord, and His strength and His wonderful works that He has done.” (Psalm 78:4).
Nathan Duncan has served in children’s ministry for more than 25 years beginning with his hometown church in North Branch, Minnesota. He studied Elementary Education at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, Illinois. He appreciates a wide variety of music genres and uses his knowledge of both sacred and secular music to inspire students to enjoy and explore music, and find their hidden talents. He met his wife Tamera while they were both students at MBI. Nathan and Tamera have two daughters attending CCA.
Tamera Duncan has served as teacher and music director in children’s ministry for more than 20 years beginning with her hometown church in Hayden Lake, Idaho. She served with Continental Ministries 1988-1992 and was a featured vocalist and assistant director in concerts across the United States, Europe, and South America. Her passion is to use music to glorify God, edify the saints, and bring the message of Christ to the world. She studied Elementary Education with an emphasis in music at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, Illinois. Psalm 33:3 “Sing to the Lord a new song; play skillfully with a shout of joy.”
Pre-Kindergarten Aide & Study Hall
Christina Hoefling has been an involved parent at CCA, since 2011. She has volunteered for many school activities/functions, and proved to be a valuable asset as a substitute teacher since 2014. She also has experience teaching Sunday School and has been a camp counselor in years past.
She is now pursuing her Child Development Associates through Texas A&M. Her passion for making a positive difference in the lives of children is her driving focus, and will continues to be her motivation in the coming years.
My background consists of working as a Medical Assistant and a Certified Nursing Assistant. After volunteering at Classical Christian Academy last year, I found a passion for working with children.
I am very excited to be in the Kindergarten classroom helping the students grow in their education and their relationship with God.
